As we get closer to winter and sleigh ride season here are some dates to know:
We will start taking reservations for sleigh rides on November 1st, 2026.
Sleigh ride season will open Friday, December 4th 2026.
We are open every day through the holiday season.
The last few winters have been a bit finicky in terms of weather - please know if the snow hasn’t fallen by the time the season starts we will offer horse drawn carriage rides until we have enough snow for the sleighs! Carriage rides will go on the same trail the sleighs would have gone on and are still pulled by our noble draft horses.

Old-Fashioned Sleigh & Carriage Rides
Our scenic, old-fashioned sleigh and carriage rides last approximately 45 minutes and feature breathtaking views of Engineer Mountain, the Needles Mountains, Hermosa Cliffs, and Haviland Lake. Warm blankets and hot chocolate are provided, making this a cozy and unforgettable way to experience Southwest Colorado. This beautiful trail is designed to create lifelong family memories.

Sleigh season runs through the holidays and continues into the spring as weather permits. All rides are reservation-only—please call or book online in advance.
VIP Tiki Sleigh Ride 🌅
The VIP Tiki Sleigh Ride departs at 5:00 PM, just as the sun begins to set. This one-of-a-kind experience offers stunning views of the Hermosa Cliffs and the glowing alpenglow on the Engineer and Needles Mountain ranges. On the return trip, tiki torches illuminate the trail, creating a truly magical evening atmosphere. Guests on this ride also receive a Bear’s Ranch souvenir gift.

Uber & Rideshare Notice:
Guests arriving via Uber or rideshare should please arrange transportation back down the mountain, as Bear’s Ranch is located approximately 20 miles north of Durango.
