The Vision

The long-term vision for the Home of the Brave project is to create a living heritage campus in the American West.

This campus will serve as:

• A museum honoring the legacy of WWII veterans and generations of American service members
• A gathering place for community commemorations and patriotic events
• An educational center where youth and visitors learn about Durango, Colorado, American history, and civic responsibility,
while western heritage experiences—including trail rides and winter sleigh rides—help preserve the traditions of the Old West and steward the natural landscape.

• A venue connecting Western landscape, culture, and American heritage

Located at Bear’s Ranch in the San Juan Mountains near Durango, the campus will blend historical storytelling, outdoor experiences, and community programming.
